Following the latest Government announcements, I’d like to update you on what this means for the Club.

In line with the guidance to “work from home where possible” the office/shop will be closed until further notice.  The best method of contacting the Club remains via emailing info@hunsletrlfc.com or ringing 0113 271 2730.

Obviously, the decision not to allow crowds back into stadiums for up to 6 months, whilst understandable, is still disappointing for everyone involved. This could of course impact on the start of the 2021 season and once again raises questions around the financial feasibility of weekly testing costs together with Clubs having to play games “behind closed doors”.  As such we will be liaising with the RFL and all other Championship and League 1 Clubs over the coming weeks and will provide more information as soon as we have it.  Rest assured though that any decisions we take will be in the long-term interests of the Club.

As has been said on many occasions these are unprecedented and worrying times for us all, but I still feel very confident that we at Hunslet will come through the current situation in relatively good shape. We have an extremely loyal supporter base, sponsors who have the Club at heart and a hardworking Board of volunteers who are up for the challenge. 

I know Gary and the squad are chomping at the bit to get back playing and when the time comes, we will be ready but in the meantime we all have to stay patient.

Please make sure you and your families remain safe.  We need everyone fit for 2021.
