Hunslet Heritage Number 1468. Born in 1965, David Plange came to Hunslet in 1996, making his debut against Prescott Panthers on 31st March.
Soon after, he became player /coach, staying with Hunslet till 1 January, 2001, leading them to wins in play-off finals. During that time, playing on the right wing, he scored 58 tries and 1 goal in his 81 appearances for the club. Before coming to Hunslet, he’d played twice for Great Britain in 1988, and was a Challenge Cup winner with Castleford.
Born in Hull to a Ghanaian father, David retired from the game after coaching Warrington. Gaining his pilot’s licence, he’s gone on to found his own company near Hull, Alpha2Bravo Aircraft Delivery Ltd. The company, with Dave as Chief Pilot, delivers planes, from light single-seaters up to medium jets , across the world for their owners. This might involve moving a small personal aircraft from Africa to Europe, or moving larger planes to or around the USA.
