Hunslet have continued their impressive squad building for the 2025 Championship Season with the signing of 23-year-old Bradford Bulls utility back Billy Jowitt.
Brought to Odsal in 2021 by John Kear, Billy has made 26 appearances for the Bulls scoring 4 tries. Jowitt has been unfortunate with injuries over the last 12 months but is now fit and raring to go.
With a fresh start ahead at a new club Hunslet fans can hope to see Billy’s massive potential fulfilled as he joins an ever more impressive Parksiders line up.
“Billy is an exciting player for us.” said Head Coach Dean Muir “He has the potential to unlock defences and is a real threat with the ball. He can create opportunities for himself and others.
“After talking to Billy it was clear our aims were aligned and it was a great match.
“He is someone who with more game time can only get better and we can’t wait to see him in a Hunslet shirt.”
Another exciting young talent added to the roster should be making fans sit up and take notice of this Hunslet team.
Billy commented “I got a good feeling about the move to Hunslet as soon as i had the phone call with Dean. I felt like what Dean was wanting to do and the style/brand of Rugby he wanted to play is what I enjoy and feel I can add to.
“Obviously, my old man played at Hunslet when he first started out so that had a drawing factor too.
“My main ambitions for this year are to be back enjoying and playing my best rugby and to help make Hunslet a Championship team that’s competing up at the top half of the table.”
Anticipation to see someone who at only 23 years old already has Championship experience should put bums on seats at the South Leeds Stadium next season.
Welcome Billy! I’m sure you will have a great time next season and have us on the edge of our seats.
