Hunslet’s flying wing man Tommy Thompson proudly received his Heritage Certificate after returning home after a long spell in hospital.
Tommy, has not had the best of years and contracted Covid-19 whilst already an in-patient in hospital with an underlying medical problem, After a long stay in hospital, and then a nursing home, he was discharged and is now back at home with his good wife Ann.
A speedy wing man Tommy signed for Hunslet, his boyhood favourites, on the 25th May 1960. He had to wait 2 years before making his first team debut against Liverpool City on the 24th November 1962. Tommy went on to play 222 games for the Parksiders scoring an impressive 90 tries.
