It’s not just Alan Kilshaw who has been busy recruiting in the close season, the Board have also been looking to strengthen and are delighted to announce the appointment of Louise Benatmane-Kehoe as Non Executive Director.
Louise is no stranger to Hunslet and has been an active volunteer at the Club for 27 years. “I was dragged to my first game in around 93/94 & fell in love with the game from the start.
“My first job between leaving school & starting 6th form was in the Hunslet office where I did everything from making sandwiches for the summer camps to counting out the wages that were paid in cash!
“Like all supporters I see things that I think can be improved. I appreciate it may not always be as straightforward as it appears so by being involved at Board level I hope to gain a better insight and offer assistance and advice where I can.”
Strategy Director Neil Hampshire commented “Louise is a great addition to the Board and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in terms of Health and Safety, Facilities Management and Event Planning.
“It’s important we continually look to freshen up the Board and hear new ideas, and take opportunities to drive down the average age!
“Non – Executive Directors, or NED’s as they are more commonly known, are a key part of the Board. Whilst Directors are elected by the members, our constitution allows the Board to appoint up to 4 NEDs, to cover specific skills or knowledge gaps.
“Part of the NED’s role is to hold the Board to account on its decisions and the role can be a stepping stone to standing as a formal Director. Louise joins Kim Groves and Damian Irvine as a NED and we are all looking forward to working with her”.
Louise takes up her position with immediate effect.
Hi Louise,
So delighted for you. Your passion for the game will help you in this new role.
All the best,
Aunty Margaret
