A leading hospice in Leeds has benefited from the donation of personal protection equipment – thanks to Hunslet player Tom Ashton and his employers Express Electrical.
Tom came up with the idea of supporting key organisations in the battle against coronavirus and his bosses immediately offered their full support.
Hunslet settled on backing Sue Ryder Wheatfields Hospice, with whom the Parksiders have a close relationship, as worthy and obvious recipients.
The delivery was, for obvious reasons, limited to a simple dropping-off of the parcel at the front door of the hospice, which is situated in Headingley.
Tom said: “Express Electrical and I are always looking at ways in which we can help the community.
“Hunslet has developed a place in my heart and the club has a great connection with the hospice.
“As a small company we rely on local loyal businesses to keep us afloat and that’s why we want to give a little back.”
Express Electrical has opened an online store to try to help customers get through these tough times. Anyone looking for electrical items or household necessities can check out www.expresselectrical.net.
