Hunslet Legend Steve Pryce and his band of supporters completed their second charity walk as they set off from Queensbury at 8.30am to attend Hunslet’s League One game against the new boys of Cornwall last Sunday. Steve was diagnosed with the onset of dementia back in February and his friend of 34 years, Chris Minchella, is spearheading the fundraising efforts for Steve and a Dementia Charity.
Chris, commented “We’ve had a massive response. We initially set a target of £2,000, but have now raised over £4,000. Such is the popularity of the guy”.
As well as being a tough tackling forward Stevo is also famed for his singing talents and treated supporters to his rendition of Stand By Me post match. He is now planning a Karaoke fundraising event, much to the “delight” of his former teammates.
Steve said “It was a very tough walk on what turned out to be a very warm day. I’d like to thank Chris and the team for their efforts as well as everyone at Hunslet for their support and Bennetts Butchers for the biggest meat raffle prize you’ve ever seen”!!!
