Despite the disappointment of being denied promotion, David stayed with Hunslet for another season, playing his last game in January 2001 after 81 appearances, 58 tries and 1 goal.

The other was Herb Robinson, a half-back who spanned the Union and Northern Union era. His first game was against Leeds at Parkside in 1894 which was won 13-0. He played in the 1898 Championship and the 1899 Challenge Cup finals before ending his career in 1902 having appeared 194 times, scoring 38 tries and 5 goals. He played three time for Yorkshire.
