HUNSLET and Batley Bulldogs have agreed a loan deal regarding Johnny Campbell.
The veteran winger has joined the south Leeds outfit for, initially, a two-week spell which will roll on, on a week-to-week basis.
The Parksiders’ head coach Alan Kilshaw said: “We are delighted to be able to bring a player of Johnny’s calibre to the club. With recent player departures including Kieron Lawton we identified a need for an experienced winger and Johnny fits that criteria.
“He was a huge part of Batley’s success story last season, scoring 26 tries in 23 games, and we feel he will make a huge impact for us on the field.”
He continued: “Off the field, his experience will be excellent for some of our younger outside backs. Dan McGrath, Alfie Goddard and Brad Wheeler can all learn from Johnny. We have added a couple of players in the last few weeks who we know will fit into the culture and the direction we want to go in. We have a strong settled squad so it’s important any additions are going to improve us and contribute to the long-term goal.”
