Hunslet Rugby League club’s head coach Gary Thornton has confirmed his squad for Sunday’s key BetFred League 1 fixture at Keighley Cougars.
Thornton’s nineteen-strong line-up includes five loan men as the Parksiders battle through a lengthy injury list.
The squad is Matty Chrimes, Wayne Reittie (loan – Batley), Ben Tibbs (loan – Halifax), Tom Ashton, Aaron Jones-Bishop, Dave Gibbons (loan – Warrington), Dom Brambani, Alex Rowe, Curtis Davies (loan – Halifax), Harry Kidd, Brad Hey, George Senior (loan – Batley), Lewis Wray, Nathan Conroy, Harvey Hallas, Jordan Andrade, Anthony `AJ’ Boardman, Joe McClean and Liam Copland.
Hunslet’s roll-call of injured players is: captain Duane Straugheir (back), Simon Brown (knee), Vila Halafihi (wrist), Sion Jones (ankle), Niall Walker (dead leg), Kiedan Hartley (hamstring), Jimmy Watson (knee) and Will Cooke (knee).
Thornton said: “This will be another tough game for us against a team that has spent heavily in the off season to try to get out of this division.
“They are well coached and well led by experienced Scott Murrell at stand-off and Quentin Laulu-Togaga’e at fullback, and have plenty of Championship and Super League experience throughout their ranks.
“We have a few injuries to key men, but we will use that adversity in a positive manner and pull together for each other.”
He concluded: “It’s still early days, and results so far show there are a number of teams who are capable of beating each other, so it will be tight all season – we must make sure we remain competitive in every game we play.”
Scrum-half Dom Brambani, meanwhile is only one point shy of 1,500, scored in a notable career also involving spells at Castleford Tigers, Featherstone Rovers, Halifax, Dewsbury Rams, Sheffield Eagles and Batley Bulldogs.
