Hunslet have added two loan signings for their trip to Rochdale this Sunday (3pm). Isaac Misky and Bureta Faraimo come into the squad on loan from Doncaster.

Misky is a hooker who has been popular at the Dons over the last two seasons, whilst Bureta is a winger from New Zealand with NRL experience who is also a USA international.

Sunday should also see the debut of Charlie Graham, bought recently from Halifax, a Centre who is prolific with 75 tries in 115 appearances.

Head Coach Kyle Trout was happy with the additions to his squad for the trip to Rochdale after last Sunday’s defeat at Salford.

“These players add to the squad; they have experience at this level and are very physical; it’s been frustrating so far this season. We are competing well in areas, but we put ourselves under pressure by silly intercepts and kicks and giving away penalties. That leads to us being lazy defensively. We are not valuing building pressure; we have chatted about it this week and the lads understand.”

“Having said that we can score tries, Mo has finished some good tries and Lee showed what he can do on Sunday. The tries we have conceded have been from charge downs or us giving up territory. I feel we’ve lost more games than we have been beaten by better teams”.

One of the bright signs this season has been Eddie Battye, who has come into the team with a leading roll

Eddie leads by example; he runs strong and hard and is always up for the fight.”

You feel that if Hunslet can get that win they will start to climb up the League, but after last season they need to get that particular ‘Monkey off their back’ quickly.

“It’s about game management and understanding the opposition. I felt we were on top at Salford when the first interception came. We scrambled well but then tried a short drop-out. We got flustered. If we manage the game better, we have the skill to win games”.

So, might that win come at Rochdale?

“They have started well, 3 wins from 3. They’ve snuck over the line in games, which is good for energy. They have a few of our ex-players who may have a ‘bee in their bonnet’. Their strength, ironically, is in their tedium; they are always at you and in your face, but we go into the game confident as ever.”

Supporters will be hoping this Sunday’s trip to Rochdale is as happy as the last visit back in 2024 in the League 1 play-offs.
