Hunslet RLFC are delighted to announce the signing of former Super League outside back Matty Dawson-Jones.

Jones, 35, joins the Parksiders on a 12-month deal following a successful three-years at Sheffield, having scored 46 tries in 78 appearances for the Eagles.

Matty, who is comfortable on the wing or in the centre, started his career at Huddersfield Giants in Super league before moving to St Helens where he scored 6 tries in 19 appearances in the Saints 2014 title winning season.

He then had a successful spell at Leigh, before featuring for Hull FC and Bradford Bulls before moving to South Yorkshire.

Kyle Trout will be delighted to have been able to add a player into the squad with a wealth of Super League experience as pre-season starts to ramp up.

Head Coach, Kyle Trout, commented on the signing: “Matty is a great acquisition for us as a Club. He is a quality player with a lot of experience at the highest level of the game.

“We look forward to seeing him bring his own touches to our environment and showcasing his capabilities on the field.

Matty commented: “I am really happy to have signed for the Club for the upcoming 2026 season and i can’t wait to get started.

“I am going into an environment that’s going through big changes and i am excited to be part of that.

“It’s a young staff with some fresh ideas and lots of hunger and energy for the game and i’m hoping that with my experience i can help as much as i can on and off the field.”
