Hunslet RLFC can today announce the signing of Tommy Brierley 21 & Aiden Hema 22 both on 1 year contracts until the end of the current season.
Head coach Gary Thornton said “ I’m delighted to have Tommy back in the squad.
“He came in last year from York and made an immediate impression on us, as a quality outside back. He can play centre, wing or full back and I’m really pleased he will soon be available to us.
“He picked up a horrendous knee injury last year and we definitely missed him at the back end of the season. It’s really tough recovering from such a serious injury.
“Training on your own and doing all the rehab that’s required away from the group is really tough on a young player, but I have to pay tribute to the way Tommy has gone about it.
“He’s remained really positive and worked incredibly hard with the physio to get back, and I’m really pleased for him.
“He’s at the backend of his recovery now, and we are looking at 4-6 weeks for him to be available for selection. That will be massive boost for us having a player of his proven quality available.
“Aiden has joined us from Rochdale where he had limited opportunities. He has settled in to the group and really impressed in training with his attitude and his desire to play at the highest level he can.
“He has a good pedigree coming through the Salford academy and Halifax RLFC, and I am delighted to have him on board. He’s a tough hard running prop and will add some real go forward in attack, and toughness in defence.”
