TWO players have been deregistered by Hunslet, by mutual consent.
Rob Worrincy has retired from Rugby League because a knee injury he sustained last season has flared up again. The 38-year-old, who signed for the Parksiders during the winter and had not featured in any games, asked for a release from his contract, which has been granted.
Tyler Walton, meanwhile, has been unable to commit to training through increased work commitments, The second row forward, who transferred from Midlands Hurricanes late last year, had appeared in the pre-season matches against Batley Bulldogs and Salford Red Devils Reserves. He, too, has had a contract release approved.
Hunslet’s head coach Alan Kilshaw said: “We’re sorry to see Tyler and Rob go but, in all the circumstances, they have made the right decisions. We thank them for their commitment, in the short time they have been with us, and we wish them both well for the future.”
That is bad news. Really wanted Rob to be fit for this season. Throughout his career he has been a exciting player to watch. The team will go on and win promotion anyway.
