HUNSLET CLUB PARKSIDE bolstered their credentials as prospective winners of the National Conference League’s League D with a 12-10 victory over previously unbeaten leaders Siddal.
The visitors led 10-6 shortly after half-time, but Parkside established a lead they were destined not to lose when Andy Hullock romped over and Jamie Fields, who had converted Craig McShane’s opener, landed his second goal.
Hunslet Club Parkside remain second in the table, and it’s now certainly all to play for in the title chase; the top two, in any event, will take part in 16-team play-offs to determine the NCL championship.
Third-placed STANNINGLEY toppled HUNSLET WARRIORS 32-20, courtesy of a strong finish after the away side had trailed only 20-14 on the hour.
Victory was sealed through Daniel Barcoe’s third try, plus Dion Henry’s clinching touchdown, while Dean Parker contributed four goals.
Tyler Hart and Louis Godfrey had crossed in the first half for Stanningley while Hunslet posted two Lee West touchdowns and tries by Dave Norton and Tyler Dargan, two of which Liam Gaunt improved. The Warriors’ cause hadn’t been helped by the sin-binning of West in the first half for punching.
OULTON RAIDERS are off the bottom of the table – MILFORD now occupying the unwanted berth – after a 24-0 result earned with Archie Craggs’ conversions of tries by Danny Mackintosh, Andy Williamson, Adrian Holdsworth and Will Milner. Fullback Edward Bond was outstanding in the north Leeds outfit’s cause.
Basement outfit DRIGHLINGTON, meanwhile, lost their League F fixture at leaders West Bowling 60-0, despite a non-stop defensive effort by second row Callum Rudd.
