HUNSLET CLUB PARKSIDE are third in the National Conference League’s Premier Division after ending leaders West Hull’s unbeaten record with a 29-22 victory before the OuRLeague cameras.

Parkside trailed 22-17 with ten minutes remaining but closed on top through tries by Will Cohen and Craig McShane, both of which Andy Hullock converted.

The home side had led 17-10 shortly after half-time, courtesy of McShane’s first touchdown, a Jack Deardon try, and three goals and a drop-goal by Danny Rowse.

The big Division One `derby’ went the way of STANNINGLEY, who bounced back from an early Greg Colbridge try to win 16-4 at one-time leaders OULTON RAIDERS. The west Leeds side are now above Oulton, in fifth position, having notched two Jack Vincent tries, a Dean Parker effort and two conversions by Codie Crossland. Andy Tillett (Oulton) and Jamaine Ruan (Stanningley) were sent off early in the second half.

HUNSLET WARRIORS, who were 22-14 behind at Dewsbury Moor, snatched a draw, partly through an acknowledged error by referee Josh Ruckledge.

The Warriors thought they had pegged the Maroons back to a couple of points when Liam Brown was awarded a penalty try five minutes from the end and Josh McLelland tagged on the goal.

Mr Ruckledge, however, mistakenly granted Hunslet a further shot at goal, confusing his decision with an `8-point try’ award, and McLelland was on target with the leveller. The Moor, however, sportingly hailed the referee afterwards for his honesty in admitting his error.

The Warriors, who had drawn with Woolston the previous week, had been in contention through tries by Brown, Lee West and Tyler Dargan, one of which Liam Gaunt converted.

EAST LEEDS are continuing to take Division Three by storm and beat promotion rivals Shaw Cross 42-22. Owen Hughes and Andy Djeukessi both crossed twice in Easts’ seventh win in as many outings, while Jordan Russell, Adam Gibbons and Jack Thackray also dotted down; Luke Littlewood added seven goals.

Elsewhere, DRIGHLINGTON saw off second-placed Oldham St Annes, emerging victorious at 29-22 through a try on 76 minutes by Kieron Roche, who landed his fourth goal and then put paid to the Saints’ hopes of forcing a draw with a late drop goal. Drig had been level after having posted touchdowns for Lucas Hallas, Harris Brereton and Kieran Boulton.
