Ross Whitmore is on-board for his 2nd season with Hunslet after impressing in our promotion winning season.

It was fitting Whitmore had the ball in hand on the hooter at Swinton in the Promotion play-off Final, as Ross was a major part of the engine room that engineered Hunslet’s success on the field in 2024.

Ross played 20 games scoring 3 tries in 2024, and was was rewarded for his form this week by been called up to the Scotland RL squad for the upcoming autumn international against Ireland.

“Ross trains harder than anyone, his expectations are high and he sets good standards. Ross played consistently this year and will only continue to get better” said Hunslet Coach Dean Muir.

Ross commented “I’m grateful to be staying at Hunslet for another year, especially off the back of promotion.

“I’ve loved this year with the group of lads and the morale we created as a team and it’s something I was keen to stay apart of.

“I’m looking forward to the challenge of the Championship and playing some great rugby with a great set of lads! I’m extremely thankful to Dean and Jacko for the opportunity and wanting to keep me on another year.”

On his international call up Ross was buzzing “Honestly, it came as a shock, I wasn’t expecting it. I’m really proud to get to represent my families heritage and it tops off a great year of rugby.”

The 24 year old who was previously at Doncaster now gets a chance to showcase his skills in the Championship, and after a season getting to know his team mates, the bond created will allow Whitmore to be at front and centre of this Championship team.
