A day for representative players, today, although 1887 marked our first fixture with Bramley at their Barley Mow enclosure. Hunslet travelled back with a 1 goal to nil win in this club match.

1896 saw Billy Hannah play his first representative game as a Hunslet player, travelling to Runcorn to help Yorkshire gain a win over Cheshire. Owen Walsh was also on duty in the forwards.

In 1936, Jack Walkington was selected for the Tour Trial at Headingley. He kicked 2 goals from full-back in a 19-0 win for the Whites over the stripes. Unfortunately, he was not invited to tour.

Today in 1938, centre Cyril Morrell was lining up for Yorkshire against Lancashire at Rochdale. Although Cyril scored a try, it was not enough to stop the Red Rose sneaking to a 10-9 win.

In 2006, Will Cartledge made his debut at Doncaster. Will would be with us for two seasons, making 54 appearances and scoring 6 tries. He came to Hunslet from Batley Bulldogs and also played for Keighley Cougars.

As mentioned in the article about our amateur opponents, today was the day we suffered our only defeat to junior opposition, going down 12-14 at Ellenborough after Chris Ross and Rob Wilson were sent off in the first half.
