Hunslet RLFC is set to put the community centre stage when the Parksiders welcome London Broncos on Sunday 31 May, with a range of family-focused initiatives and a Super Heroes-themed match day designed to celebrate local people and organisations making a difference.

The club is encouraging supporters, families and community groups from across Leeds to be part of what promises to be a vibrant occasion both on and off the field.

As part of the club’s commitment to making rugby league accessible to more people, Hunslet RLFC is offering free entry to all Active Leeds members, opening the gates to encourage more local residents to experience Championship rugby.

In addition, children attending the game in their own community club shirts will unlock a special family offer, with accompanying adults able to purchase tickets for just £5.

Community Director Phil Hodgson says the initiatives reflect Hunslet’s ambition to strengthen ties across Leeds and reward those making a positive impact.

“We are a club built around its community and this fixture gives us a fantastic opportunity to celebrate that.” said Hodgson.

“We want to remove economic barriers and make it easier for families to come along and enjoy a Championship match day experience. Offering free entry for Active Leeds members and reduced-price adult tickets is about opening our doors wider and encouraging people to be part of the Hunslet family.”

The game itself will carry a Super Heroes theme, creating a fun atmosphere for younger supporters and families, while also recognising that many real-life heroes work quietly in communities every day.

“Everyone knows and loves superheroes, but there are real community heroes across Leeds making a difference every single day.” he added.

“Whether it’s volunteers, grassroots organisations, youth groups, charities or local projects helping others, we want to hear from them. We’re actively looking to celebrate and reward our local community champions and encourage organisations to get in touch with the club.”

The game is sponsored by All Things Fire and Security in association with the Darby Rimmer Foundation.
