Hunslet RLFC are delighted to confirm the signing of exciting young Hull FC outside-back Ben Johnson on a 12-month contract.
The highly rated 20-year-old joins the Parksiders permanently for the 2027 campaign at the South Leeds Stadium. A graduate of Hull FC’s esteemed Scholarship and Academy systems, Johnson progressed to the Black & Whites’ first-team squad in 2024 and made his top-flight Super League debut against Leigh Leopards in May 2026.
The former Hull Wyke junior is already a familiar face to Hunslet supporters, having made a short-term loan appearance for the club against Widnes Vikings during the 2026 season.
Kyle Trout commented: “We’re really pleased to bring Ben Johnson into our environment.
“Even in the one game we saw him play last year, he showed glimpses of what he’s capable of. He’s got real skill, excellent vision and a natural understanding of the game.
“He has the ability to spot opportunities, create something out of nothing and make things happen with the ball in hand. That fits perfectly with the style of rugby we want to play, and I’m looking forward to seeing what he can bring to the team.”
Ben commented: “I’m really looking forward to getting started, meeting the lads and pulling on the Hunslet shirt. I can’t wait to get out there, give my all for the team and show the fans what I can bring.”
Ben’s 2027 Silver sponsor is “Gareth Cairns & Steve Lupton”.
Gold and Platinum sponsorship is still available for Ben. For more information please email us lynn.robinson@hunsletrlfc.com
