Harry the Hawk returned to pre-season training a week earlier than the rest of the squad to take part in Sunday’s Abbey Dash.
In scenes reminiscent of the water splash final, Harry joined forces with Vic Voltage and staff from our community partner Northern Powergrid to complete the 10k run from Wellington Street in the city centre to Kirkstall Abbey and back.
Over 11,000 runners took part but Harry was the only one to finish 4 stone heavier !!!
Those feathers hold a lot of water but Harry was more than happy to put in the hard yards for such a great cause. He and the Northern Powergrid team were running to raise funds for Martin House Children’s Hospice.

A special mention also goes to Hunslet supporter Lee Hullock who played a big part in the day.
