As part of Hunslet RLFC’s aim of expanding its local community reach, we are proud to announce a partnership with Sue Ryder Wheatfields Hospice for a special edition 2019 warm up top.
The Wheatfields Hospice warm up top will be worn by all players during the pre-match warm up for all league and cup games in 2019 starting with the 2019 Harry Jepson Memorial Cup game against Leeds Rhinos.
Pride of place on the front of the warm up tops will be ‘The Sue Ryder Wheatfields’ logo, with the back of the shirt open for sponsorship. All sponsorship contributions will, after costs be donated to the Hospice.
The Hunslet backroom staff comprising of Kit Manager Trevor Brown and Hunslet TV’s Scott Johnson came up with the idea of producing a charity warm up top.
Trevor commented “As myself and Scott were discussing 2019 kit needs, we came up with the idea of producing a charity warm up top.
“With my family been affected by Cancer, and finding out Scott’s family has also been affected in the same way, we wanted to have a charity that was close to our hearts on the top.
“Scott then suggested Wheatfields Hospice as they had helped his family through difficult times, and the decision was made for the inaugural 2019 charity to be Wheatfields Hospice”
On the partnership with Wheatfields Senior Hospice Fundraiser Paula Gunaria had to say “We are incredibly grateful for the support of the local community.
“Sue Ryder Wheatfields Hospice has been at the heart of the community for 40 years caring for thousands of patients living with complex life-limiting conditions.
“When someone has been given a life-changing diagnosis or is bereaved, their world is turned upside-down.
“We put a lot of thought and care onto helping people live the best life they possibly can but we could not continue to provide expert hospice care without the support of local institutions like Hunslet RLFC.”
Sponsorship opportunities are still available but are filling up fast, so if you are interested in getting involved in with this unique opportunity and sponsoring the 2019 Wheatfields warm up top please contact either Trevor Brown (brownielufc@msn.com) or Scott Johnson (scott.johnson@btinternet.com) for further details.
