November sees the end of Jimmy Watson’s testimonial year and what a year it’s been. Numerous raffles, a race night, Phoenix nights, sponsored walks, a fishing match, a golf day, a testimonial game and a testimonial dinner have all contributed to a bumper year for one of Hunslet’s favourite sons.

An emotional Jimmy commented “I feel humbled and extremely grateful to everyone who has supported me through my testimonial year. It surpassed all expectations.

“A special mention to my friend Phil Hodgson who’s been at the forefront throughout. I cannot thank him enough for everything although I bet he’s sick of me by now haha.

“I’ve been lucky to see what goes on behind the scenes at the Club this year and I take my hat off to everyone involved.

“I also want to say a massive thank you to my rock, my ‘wife to be’ Charlene who is always by my side.  She comes to every game and brings our 2 kids Layla and Lomax which makes every game very special for me. She’s worked tirelessly this year helping me with everything and I cannot thank her enough. She’s amazing.”

Jimmy went on to say “Over my 10 years at the Club I hold close to my heart, i know 2024 is a big season and our loyal fans deserve a big year on and off the field.

“Again, I cannot thank everyone enough who’s supported me this year and made it a very special testimonial. One I will never forget”.
