Everyone at Hunslet are shocked and saddened to hear of the sudden passing of former Commercial Director Andy Hemingway at the weekend.
Andy was responsible for numerous major initiatives during his time at the Club, including the installation of the South Leeds Stadium scoreboard, the Club’s first ever mobile fixture marketing board, and assisting in the Club’s acquisition of the bottle bar and food kiosk on the upper concourse.
Andy was also in charge of bringing key sponsors to the Club throughout his time, including PIMS, Gibbs and Dandy, and Bartercard.
CEO Neil Hampshire commented “I was Chairman when Andy was on the Board and his enthusiasm and commitment were a great asset to the Club. Even after he stepped down he still played his part in helping organise the Christmas Luncheon and most recently with the naming of the Geoff Gunney Stand project. He will be sadly missed”.
Our thoughts are with Linda, Dominique and Alex at this difficult time.
Details of the funeral arrangements will be released in due course.
Very sad news.
Very sad news my thoughts are with Andyโs family.
Fiona and Andy x
Andrew loved his Rugby, and especially his time with his beloved Hunslet, I attended many functions and games with my brother
Devastated by the sad news that my long time pal has gone. Andyโs sharp wit and humour and at times his selfless support has over the years often got me through difficult times or cheered me up. A sad loss, he will be greatly missed. Brian H
