Unfortunately the Club has had to take the decision to cancel this year’s Christmas event and also the Breakfast Club, which was due to return on Friday.
Director Peter Jarvis commented “It’s a real shame we have had to cancel the Christmas luncheon. It is a great event and a valuable fundraiser for the Club. However, with so much uncertainty around Covid and the rules changing on a daily basis it is the only sensible decision. The organising committee already have their thinking caps on and we will be looking to hold a mid-year event when, hopefully, things improve”.
Jarvo was also looking forward to re-starting the Breakfast Club this Friday but that has now been put on hold. “Although we can hold events with multiples of 6 in the Phoenix we don’t believe it is the right thing to do at this moment in time. A fair few of the attendees and volunteers are of the age that is deemed vulnerable so we don’t want to put anyone at risk. We will monitor the situation over the coming weeks and return when the time is right. 2021 is going to be a big year for the Club and we need everyone fit”
