Hunslet are pleased to announce the appointment of Paul Owen to the Finance Director position with immediate effect.
CEO Neil Hampshire explained “We are delighted to have Paul and the services of his company, Libertas Accounting, onboard. As we look to move the Club to the next level it is vital we have strong governance and keep abreast of the latest developments in the finance arena. Having someone with Paul’s expertise is invaluable.”
Current FD Phil Hodgson will transfer to the role of Community Director. Hampshire went on “As we know the Club hit a rocky patch back in 2019 and Phil volunteered to step in to help on the finance side of things. Thanks to his hard work and guidance we find ourselves in a much healthier financial state. I know his true passion is the community so I’m pleased he now gets the opportunity to work in this area.”
Paul, a former professional player with Keighley and Rochdale Hornets, commented “I’ve been working alongside Phil for the last 6 months to ensure a smooth transition and am delighted to be involved with a great club like Hunslet.”
Neil finished by saying “There are a lot of changes going on in the game and we will continually review our operating model to ensure we keep pace with them. We are all excited about the challenges and opportunities ahead.”
