Head coach Alan Kilshaw has named his squad for Sunday’s attractive home Betfred League One fixture with Workington Town.
Scrum-half Matty Beharrell is back in contention after having missed last week’s win at Cornwall, and stand-off Jake Sweeting is fully recovered from his quad injury.
Fullback Jimmy Watson, however, remains on the sidelines through a finger injury sustained at work, while halfback Fraser Stroud is ruled out with a foot injury.
Aaron York is still suffering from the tonsilitis that prevented him from travelling to Cornwall (who, coincidentally, have signed Harvey Whiteley and Spencer Darley on loan). Winger Johnny Campbell, who is on loan from Batley, has been recalled by the Bulldogs for tonight’s Betfred Challenge Cup tie at Hull KR. Hooker Jamie Greenwood, meanwhile, has been released. Josh Jordan-Roberts, meanwhile, is poised to make his 100th career appearance.
‘Killer’ said: “The group are excited to play at home in front of our supporters and families. We know Workington will travel well, so it should be a good atmosphere and a quality game to match.
“We have put in some building blocks with our last two performances, against Midlands and Cornwall, towards how we want to play and evolve. We are going to have to be consistent, and back those blocks up with a higher level of performance, and for longer, this weekend against what is a good Workington side.”
Hunslet (against Workington Town, Sunday 21 May, 3.00pm, at the South Leeds Stadium), from: Jack Render, Adam Ryder, Joe Burton, Jake Sweeting, Nathan Conroy, Harvey Hallas, Sam Hallas, Steve Crossley, Josh Jordan-Roberts, Michael Knowles, Danny Barcoe, Nathan Newbound, Jordan Syme, Lewis Wray, Morgan Punchard, Liam Carr, Jordan Bull, Sean Croston, Brad Wheeler, Alfie Goddard, Matty Beharrell.
Meanwhile, Hunslet’s Betfred League 1 fixture at Oldham, originally scheduled for Sunday 4 June, has been switched to Saturday 3 June, with a 1.00pm kick-off.
