General Description
The Strength and Conditioning Coach will lead on the physical preparation of all players in the first team squad. Working in conjunction with medical staff the role will see the integration of individual ‘pre-hab’ needs into gym based programmes and also ensure general ‘pre-hab’ needs and considerations are embedded into both gym and field-based planning and delivery. The role will also include working closely with the Head Coach around the planning and delivery of integrated on field physical preparation and conditioning. Management and support of intern S & C Coaches (tbc) will also compliment wider areas of work as well as the promotion of standards and culture identified in the clubs cultural footprint. The role will commence in October / November 2025 ahead of pre-season training. The role is a part time role consisting of three evening sessions per week and weekend match day commitments.
Specific duties
Gym:
- Periodisation of gym sessions over the course of the (pre)-season.
- Monitoring of individual progress including periodised testing and anthropometric measurements.
- Adequate warm-ups to prepare players for gym sessions.
- Carefully planned gym programs based on individual needs, athletic capability and time in season.
- Individual extras with players based on areas of improvement.
Field:
- Periodisation of field sessions over the course of (pre)-season.
- Plan and advise on drill design.
- Adequate warm-ups to prepare players for field sessions.
- Speed, agility and quickness sessions on the field.
- Group conditioning.
- Individual extras with players based on areas of improvement.
General:
- Communicate effectively with coaches regarding planning, training sessions and individual players.
- Communicate and plan effectively with physios regarding injured players.
- Monitoring of wellness and RPE.
- Set and enforce standards on the field and in the gym, adding to the professionalism and culture of the club.
Match-day:
- Nutritional and hydration strategies.
- Warm-up.
- Side-line duties.
