While things were still quiet at the club, this day saw some player developments.
In 1906, 2 members of the “Terrible Six made their debuts. John Willie Higson and Jack Randall played against Hull at Parkside (a 7-0 win).
Both players were signed from Featherstone Rovers and they had attracted the attention of a number of other clubs.
Higson played 115 games before moving to Huddersfield where he repeated his achievement of playing in a team which won all 4 cups. For Hunslet he played in the Challenge Cup final and the Championship final and replay as they took all 4 trophies. He also played in the 1908 Yorkshire Cup final.
From Huddersfield he returned to Featherstone in 1919 and moved to Wakefield Trinity in 1925 as trainer. He obtained a free transfer from Rovers to allow him to play and he made his Trinity debut at Parkside. He represented Northern Union (Great Britain), England and Yorkshire.
Randall made 178 appearances for Hunslet. He played in all three finals and the Championship replay in 1907/08. The following season he played and scored a try in the Yorkshire Cup final, a loss to Halifax. He played in three County Trial matches. He served with the West Yorkshire Regiment in WW1 and was wounded in action.
In 1964, after signing the previous day, Hunslet registered Mick Chamberlain. He signed from Hunslet Juniors for a £50 signing on fee. A centre, Mick played 133 games for Hunslet, scoring 21 tries. In September 1971 he moved to Huddersfield.
