Hunslet RLFC are delighted to announce the signing of former Oldham young star Bailey Aldridge on a 12-month deal.
Bailey, 21, who started his junior career at Batley Boys, joined Oldham from Leeds Rhinos in 2023, signing a two-year deal with the Lancashire Club.
Aldridge, a hooker, was a key player for the Rhinos Under-18s side that won the Academy Grand Final trophy in 2022. He scored three tries in nine appearances during that season. He was an ever-present player for the Rhinos Reserves team in 2023 and was one of the top try-scorers in the competition that year before moving on to Oldham seeking a first-team opportunity in professional rugby.
The dynamic hooker made an instant impact at Oldham making 18 appearances in their 2024 League One winning title side and was voted the Fans’ Player of the Year.
He then made a successful transition to Championship Rugby making a further 13 appearances as Oldham made the Championship play-offs.
Head Coach, Kyle Trout, commented on the signing; “Bailey is someone I have been watching for a while, seeing first hand his professionalism and competitive nature.
“An instinctive footballer with bags of potential, we are looking forward to having him in our environment and developing him further as a player. I know he will give everything he has to the team and the jersey.”
Bailey added; “When Hunslet came knocking and I sat down with Kyle, I was sold. The vision and passion Kyle has for the future is something special and that really excites me as a player and competitor.
“I am really looking forward to getting stuck into pre-season and meeting all the lads and I am confident we can build a great culture and have a good year.
“I am grateful for the challenge and opportunity in front of me and cant wait to meet you all in 2026.”
