Hunslet have re-signed Matty Beharrell on a two-year deal.
The popular half-back won joint Supporters Player of the Season last year after coming back into the professional game from a spell at local amateur club Hull Dockers.
The former Dewsbury, Doncaster and Newcastle half-back was instrumental in Hunslet’s success last year, scoring 127 points in 13 appearances as the Parksiders finished second in Betfred League 1. Matty will hope to play a pivotal role again this year.
Head Coach Dean Muir commented “To secure Matty on a two-year deal is important for the direction of the squad. His leadership and ability to play is vital. I’m excited about working with Matty and to see how he can help the group.”
Hunslet supporters really warmed to Beharrell and knowing he will be back leading the team around the field will fill many of them with hope for 2024.
