As our fans will be aware the Club has been under investigation by the RFL in relation to the contracts of Luke Briscoe and James Duckworth. We are pleased to announce that, as we fully expected, the RFL has cleared us of any impropriety whatsoever and no further action will be taken.
Chairman Neil Hampshire said “I can’t deny that this has been a concern the Club could well have done without and has caused no little stress to us as well as both Luke and James. The fact that they have continued to perform to such a high level for us throughout this period is testament to their professionalism and we are proud that they are with us.”
“Investigations such as these should, of course, be conducted privately and I hope that the individual who leaked details to the press is sufficiently proud of themselves. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank our staff for cooperating fully with the investigation and also thank the RFL for concluding their enquiries as quickly as possible”
