Whilst pleased to have the possibility of a further 2 home games in the Challenge Cup; at home to Keighley in the third round and, if successful, a further home tie against Thatto Heath Crusaders or Featherstone in the next; Hunslet recognise the financial pressure this puts on their supporters.
CEO Neil Hampshire commented “Last year we decried the lack of games in League 1 and have been grateful for the introduction of the new format AB Sundecks 1895 competition this season that has helped to rectify that. However, sometimes you can have too much of a good thing and the Cup draw now sees us playing at home on the next 4, and possibly 5, consecutive weekends. That obviously brings cost pressures to our fans and we have therefore taken the decision to absorb some of that cost internally and provide our King members with a complimentary ticket for our 1895 game against Batley in recognition of their support for the Club. Of course our Watson members already receive 1895 Cup tickets as part of their package.”
