Head Coach Dean Muir has named his 21 man squad to travel to France to take on Toulouse Olympique.

Hunslet Head Coach Dean Muir has prepared his squad for their trip to the South of France to face Toulouse Olympique, but it is no break in the sun as Hunslet look to claw back some pride after last time out’s defeat to Doncaster.

The Parksiders attitude is to be positive in every game, but after Toulouse’s impressive win over Bradford Bulls 36-4 they know they will not be favourites on this occasion.

“This is a tough game.” said Head Coach Dean Muir “They are the best side in the competition, are fast, big, aggressive, have creative middles and a clinical half-back pairing. It’s a good test for us, they are a full-time outfit, but this is not a Holiday.

“Every week is a fresh week. Training was positive after the Doncaster defeat. We didn’t compete and weren’t good enough against Doncaster. But the lads have ripped in and have taken on the extra demand, and we are ready to go.”

New signing Lee Gaskell will not be available for the game, but after a full medical he is fit and raring to get training with the team.

“Lee is a good bloke with experience, we’re really excited about him joining us.” said Muir.

Although Hunslet are missing a host of players on the treatment table, namely Kobe Rugless, Cam Berry, Brad Clavering, Matty Beharrell, Liam Carr and Ross Whitmore (who after a scan this week will have a better idea of his return to action) they have Keelan Foster returning to the squad adding some much needed power up front.

Also in are Harrison Gilmore and Coby Nicol.

“Harrison has been patient and worked hard, we are happy he’s ready to pull on the jersey, whilst Coby has been competitive and worked hard out on loan. Both these players deserve a chance”.

With over 100 Hunslet fans making the journey the team will certainly have the kind of backing that got them promotion to the Championship.

“The atmosphere should be great. Our fans travel well and are amazing. Let’s hope we can all do the Club proud”.
