Hunslet RLFC are delighted to announce that 2025 Player of the Season Billy Jowitt has signed a new 12-month contract with the Club keeping him at the South Leeds Stadium until the end of the 2026 season.
Billy joined Hunslet for the 2025 season, three decades after his father Warren Jowitt played for the south Leeds club. Billy signed for the Parksiders after beginning his career with Bradford Bulls, in a mirror image of Warren who started at Hunslet and moved to Odsal.
The 24-year-old utility-back had a fantastic debut season for the Parksiders, excelling in several different positions during the year. Billy played in every game during 2025, featuring in 27 games and was the club’s top try scorer with 10 tries. He also kicked 28 goals.
Billy was recognised for his efforts by the coaching staff, his fellow teammates and supporters, as he went on to win ‘Coaches Player’, ‘Supporters Player’ and ‘Players Player’ of the season at the clubs’ end of the season awards night.
Kyle Trout was delighted to secure Billy for next season “Billy is the ultimate competitor and has shown tremendous value within our group, not only with his performances on the field but with his continued commitment and intent in everything he does.
“He was a standout player for us in 2025 and i am delighted he has committed to us for 2026.
“I am sure over the next few years that we can assist him to continue to progress and to reach his full potential and become an even greater asset to the team.
Billy commented “I have loved my time here at Hunslet. My main intention when i joined was to just play week in week out and try to get back into the game after been out for so long due to some difficult seasons. All the staff at Hunslet have made it possible to do just that and have gone above and beyond to support me this season, which means so much to me.
“Kyle and Knoz have been great for me, really giving me the confidence to perform, by focusing on the 1% of my game week in week out, which has allowed me to improve across the season.
“The way Kyle wants to move Hunslet forward next season is really exciting and is something i want to be a part of. I want to give my all to help bring success back to the Club.”
