Head coach Alan Kilshaw has confirmed his 20-man squad for Sunday’s third round Betfred Challenge Cup tie with top amateur outfit Siddal.
`Killer’ brings back the experienced trio of captain Duane Straugheir, fullback Jimmy Watson and centre Jason Mossop, all of whom were rested for last week’s Harry Jepson OBE Memorial Trophy victory over Leeds Rhinos.
The Parksiders are in the third round courtesy of an impressive 22-6 triumph over fellow Betfred League 1 side Keighley Cougars, and Kilshaw said: “We are fully focussed on improving on our last two performances. We have been concentrating a lot on our game model and on making sure we apply our playing principles into performances.
“Siddal are a side we fully respect. They have a number of quality players in the likes of Lewis Hosty and Jamie Greenwood, who are threats with the ball, and they are marshalled well through the field by Richard Pogson and Christian Ackroyd.
“We are excited by this challenge and by the prospect of playing in front of another vocal crowd.”
The game, which is being screened live on BBC iPlayer, BBC Sport website and the BBC’s app, kicks off at 1.00pm and admission prices have been reduced to £5, with under 16s to be admitted free.
