After another week off Hunslet Coach Dean Muir prepares his squad for the long trip to Cornwall and the run-in to the end of the season and the play-off’s.

“It’s really frustrating having these breaks, but now we have games week in week out to the end of the season it’s about continuation. It’s a really tough run in starting at Cornwall then visiting big spenders like Keighley and Midlands but we must concentrate on ourselves and go about our business quietly.”

Muir was reflective on the defeat last time out to Workington “We were not good enough at home to Workington. We were a mile off but even then, frustratingly we could still have won. We are still in a good position though and where we want to be. It’s important we finish in that top four to give ourselves two bites of the cherry.”

Speaking of Cornwall Muir checked out his opponents last week at Rochdale “Cornwall were the better side for large parts of the game, they are certainly different to last time we played them and obviously it’s on their own patch. They have Jacob Bateman and Jamie Gill on loan from Bradford. Gill is big and physical, also at half-back Morgan Punchard (who is known to Hunslet fans) is dangerous, as is the lightening quick Cameron Brown, we need to be switched on”. Then there is Tom Ashton who can score tries and again is well known to the Parksiders fans.

Hunslet travel down to Cornwall early on Friday before doing their team run out at Taunton RUFC ready for the game on Saturday.

After the transfer deadline day drama Mackenzie Scurr comes into the squad, as well as new faces Mackenzie Turner and Joshua Rhodes. Whilst Aaron Levy returns after injury. Josh Jordan-Roberts faces a Head Injury Assessment test to see if he is fit to play.
