Dean Muir has prepared his side for Sundays Play-off semi-final at Rochdale Hornets (3pm) with Hunslet fighting for a place in the Play-off Final at Keighley Cougars.

“We know it’s a tough game, Rochdale are favourites having finished above us in the league and beating us twice already this season. We must be on our game. Have no regrets come full time, leave it all out there and rise to the occasion.” said Muir.

“We must put in the performance we have worked for, listen to ourselves and not any outside noise.”

That noise may come from reports of injuries and suspensions coming out of the Hornets camp, but whatever team Rochdale put out will be strong and Muir knows it’s down to Hunslet, not the opposition to win the game.

One thing the team does need is the support of the Hunslet fans. The travelling supporters were very vocal a fortnight ago at Rochdale and if Hunslet are to get over the line they will need that support again.

“We need to replicate that support from our last visit to Rochdale. It was unbelievable. Intense, noisy and vocal. The lads certainly are inspired when our support gets behind us.”

One player certainly in form and on the up is Jude Ferreira. The flying centre has been selected for the Wales RL Train on camp. “It’s been a great season for Jude.” said Muir “Let’s hope it continues! He’s great to work with and the call up is fully deserved. The lads are all happy for him and the club as a whole can be proud.”

Ferreira is not the only one celebrating as Dean Muir himself has been nominated for the Betfred League 1 Coach of the year.

“It’s nice to be nominated, but to be honest we are not a one-man band. I need to share the credit with all the team and back-room staff who have got us into the position we are in. It’s nice to repay the Directors for their efforts, let’s hope we can go on from here.”

Adding to last week’s squad Cam Berry should return after a Head Injury Assessment and Mackenzie Turner is 50/50.
