Hunslet RLFC have signed powerful young Widnes prop forward Brett Bailey on an initial one-month loan deal.
Widnes born, he joined the St Helens Academy at 18, appearing in two Reserve Finals for Saints and winning the Reserve Player of the Year Award in 2023.
Brett didn’t make a first-team appearance during his time with Saints, but did make ten senior appearances, featuring on loan and/or dual-registration in both the Championship and League 1 in 2024.
Having fractured his foot in pre-season, Bailey is yet to feature for the Vikings this season, but has spent time on dual registration at St Helens.
Head Coach Dean Muir commented, “Brett is a big, powerful ball carrier and adds power and go forward to our middles. We have a very competitive group, and he knows he has to come and compete.”
Brett will go straight into contention for Sunday’s home clash against Oldham RLFC. Tickets are available here
