Hunslet RLFC are delighted to announce that ‘Supporters Player of the Year’, Harrison Gilmore has signed a new 12-month contract to remain at the South Leeds Stadium for the 2027 season.
The young back rower, who joined the Parksiders from Leeds Rhinos in 2025, had a superb season for the Parksiders, making 26 appearances and scoring 5 tries.
Gilly’s hard running, offload game and nonstop effort in attack and defence has made him a fan’s favourite and that was recognised when he was named the ‘Supporters Player of the Year’’ for 2026. His improvement over the course of the year was also recognised by the coaching staff as he picked up the ‘Most Improved Player of the Year’ award also.
At only 21-years of age, securing such a young talent for the 2027 season is massive for Kyle Trout as he looks to build a squad to push for the play-offs.
Gilly commented “I have really enjoyed my time at the club; I have been made welcome from day one. The fans are class every week and get behind me and that’s been really pleasing.
“I believe in what Kyle is looking to build over the next few season and I want to be a part of that; I am a local lad also so the decision for me to stay was easy. I can’t wait to get back into pre-season and rip in.”
Kyle Trout commented, “Gilly is someone who has bags of potential and growth left in him and I am confident that this is the right environment to help him unlock the rest of his potential.
“He has a physical presence and brings something different to our team with his offload ability.
“Part of the identity we want as a club, is how we bring these young, hungry lads with huge potential into the club to help them improve. So far Gilly has proven to be a great example of that, and we are over the moon to keep hold of him for 2027.”
