Hunslet RLFC are delighted to announce the signing of highly-rated young halfback Archie Wright from the Bradford Bulls Academy ahead of the upcoming campaign.
At just 18 years old, the gifted playmaker makes the move to South Leeds after an impressive developmental stint within the Bradford Bulls system.
His rapid development was clearly recognized during the 2026 season, where he successfully made the step up into the Bradford Bulls Reserves competition. Testing himself against older, more physical players, Wright proved his readiness for the senior game and was notably named in the Bulls’ Reserves squad for their play-off semi-final against Hull FC.
Stepping up into a permanent first-team environment for the first time, Wright adds valuable depth, competition, and youthful exuberance to the Hunslet backline. His arrival signals the club’s continued commitment to nurturing top-tier young British talent, and the South Leeds faithful can look forward to watching this dynamic young halfback develop his craft in the Championship.
Speaking on the new signing Kyle Trout commented: “We are pleased to bring Archie to the club. He is a young player with talent, a maturity beyond his years on the field, and a fantastic work ethic. His tactical awareness and kicking attributes will provide great competition and depth in our creative roles. We look forward to seeing him develop further in a first-team environment here at Hunslet.”
Archie added: “I am really excited to be joining Hunslet and grateful for the opportunity to be part of such a great club, I’m looking forward to getting started, meeting the players and coaching staff and contributing as much as I can to the team. I’m excited for the challenge ahead and I am determined to work hard, improve and give 100% into everything.”
