Hunslet RLFC can today announce the signing of prop forward Jack Blagbrough, 24 from Leigh Centurions on a month’s loan.
Jack was in the Huddersfield Giants Academy system and played his junior rugby league with the Newsome Panthers. He made his Super League debut for the Huddersfield Giants in 2013.
Jack represented both Oldham Roughyeds and Sheffield Eagles in the Championship during 2016.
He joined the Centurions in October 2017 from the Mackay Cutters in Australia on a three year deal.
Director of Rugby Darren Williams said “Jack joins us at a crucial time with a busy period coming up over Easter with some tough games ahead due to a backlog of postponed fixtures.
“I would like to thank Keiron Cunningham and the Leigh club for facilitating this move so quickly.
“Jack along with recent loan signing Josh Jordan-Roberts from Leeds Rhinos will come into contention for this weekend’s game against the Bradford Bulls.”
Hunslet head coach Gary Thornton added “Jack will add some much needed strength in depth to our forward pack as we are a little light on numbers since we lost Brad Foster, Ryan Mallinder and Nyle Flynn to injury recently.
“We have a very tough sequence of games coming up over the next 4-6 weeks, and i thought it was important to bring someone in.
“We play Bradford twice, Keighley and Oldham over the next two weeks or so, and with short turn arounds between each game.
“By adding Jack to the squad it will take some pressure off, and we won’t have to rush our injured players back until they are fully fit and ready to play.
“Jack has loads of Championship experience with Sheffield and Oldham he will be a valuable asset and give us some more options in the front row.
“He is explosive with plenty of punch in the middle unit, and can do decent minutes for a big man, and will give us some decent go forward to play off.
“He is really excited about coming to Hunslet and getting some decent game time, and I wish him all the best during his stay with us.
