A new book documenting the first 27 years of Northern Rugby Football Union will be launched in the Phoenix Bar on Friday 15th November at 10:30am.
This new book by author Les Hoole illustrates the birth of the Northern Rugby Football Union in 1895 to the 1922 name change to the Rugby League.
The book is illustrated with over 250 rare images of the early seasons of Bramley, Hunslet, Holbeck Leeds Parish Church, Leeds as well as a host of long gone clubs. Every challenge cup final from 1897 to 1922 is covered in great detail and also the first Kiwis, Kangaroos and Lions tours.
It is an essential read for any follower of Rugby League and a superb Christmas present.
The Hunslet RLFC breakfast club will also be on at the same time, so a great opportunity to meet new and old friends.
