Nineteen-year-old prop Rian Rowley will bring plenty of youthful enthusiasm to the cause when Hunslet set about their assault on Betfred League 1 next year.
A local lad who came through the ranks at Stanningley, he has already picked up valuable experience with Bradford Bulls and Leeds Rhinos and is delighted to join a club packed with players of a similar age.
The 6ft 1inch, 15 stones packman, who pays tribute to his dad Chris for his tireless support over the years, said: “I’m excited about joining Hunslet. There’s a lot of young lads here, so there’s a great buzz about the place, and I’m sure I’ll get plenty of opportunities under Alan Kilshaw, who has already made a big impression on me.
“I’ve a simple ambition to start with – to play well, cement my place in the team and help us get some wins.”
“Rian is more than ready for the challenge of first grade football,” said Kilshaw. “He plays hard and aggressive and being a local lad he will take pride in representing the club every time he goes over the whitewash.”
