Popular Full-back Jimmy Watson has put pen to paper to re-sign for the 2024 season.
Watson who will enjoy his eleventh season at the South Leeds Stadium, enjoyed a testimonial season in 2023 and was integral in Hunsletโs success last time out, and as a popular man in the dressing room will hope to gel a new squad of players together.
Head Coach Dean Muir commented “It was really important we retained Jimmy. His experience is really important to lead this group, and Jimmy’s attitude to training is first class and I cant wait to work with him. His skill level and understanding of how we want to play will be excellent to watch in 2024.”
Watson’s experience will be important in bringing through younger players including Brad Wheeler and Liam Carr who have re-signed for the 2024 season.
Carr didn’t get much game time last season but was an ever present in the squad and was highly rated by former Coach Alan Kilshaw, whilst Wheeler featured a hand full of times and was impressive, showing an old head on young shoulders.
All three players are champing at the bit for pre-season training to begin, hoping to show new Coach Dean Muir what they can do.
