Hunslet Hawks RLFC can announce the signing of Callum Casey from Halifax on a 1 year contract.
24 year old Casey signed for Halifax in 2012 from Leeds Rhinos and has been a regular fixture in their Championship team. He has made 60 appearances in his 3 year spell at the club scoring 14 tries and brings with him added utility value. He is predominantly a back row forward but he has plenty of experience playing in the half’s as well as hooker.
Director of Rugby Darren Williams said “It’s a credit to the club that we can now attract proven Championship performers to join us as Callum had several other options to consider. Callum has played alot of games at Championship level for someone of his age and he cemented his place in a top 4 Championship side over the last 3 years. Karl Harrison speaks really highly of his attributes both as a player but also as a person and we got very good reports from the Rhinos as he progressed through their junior systems. I’m sure Callum will prove to be a very shrewd signing and his utility value increases our selection options. He’s just appeared in every game for Ireland in the recent European Championship and scored a scintillating try against Wales.“
