The Ladbrokes Challenge Cup 3rd round draw will take place at The Glyndwr University Racecourse Stadium, Wrexham on Tuesday February 16 from 7.00pm.

Lance Todd Trophy winner Lee Briers and former Leigh Centurions coach Paul Rowley will conduct the draw.

Briers, a Warrington Wolves favourite and former Wales international, has won the Challenge Cup on three occasions with the Wolves and was named man-of-the-match in the 2010 final after creating four of the six tries scored that day.

Scoring over 2000 points and amassing more than 400 appearances for Warrington, Briers, who is Assistant First Team Coach and Under-19s Head Coach at the Wolves, represented his country 23 times and featured in the 2000 Rugby League World Cup, 2010 European Cup and 2011 Four Nations.

Rowley’s Centurions side came close to pulling off the shock of the 2014 competition by matching Leeds Rhinos right up to the 73rd minute in the quarter-final. They narrowly lost 25-12 that day but gained plenty of praise for the way they performed.

Leigh’s Cup run last year grabbed more headlines as Rowley’s Championship team beat Super League sides Salford Red Devils and Wakefield Trinity Wildcats. The Centurions met Warrington in the quarter-final and were defeated 34-24 in one of the most entertaining games of the tournament.

The Ladbrokes Challenge Cup third round features 12 ties involving the nine winners from the second round and 15 clubs from the Kingstone Press League 1. Ties will be played over the weekend of February 27-28.

Tickets for the final at Wembley Stadium on Saturday 27th August will be available to purchase at a discounted rate from Hunslet Hawks.  Details of how to purchase from the Hawks will be announced as soon as we have the tickets in stock.
