Hunslet plan to fully embrace the Rugby Football League’s Annual Rugby League Shirt Day, which has been inked in for Friday 22 September 2023.

The occasion has been by inspired by Rob Burrow and Steve Prescott, both of whom have famously raised money for MND Association and The Steve Prescott Foundation. The Parksiders, meanwhile, have long had a direct interest in supporting the MND Association, former player Stuart Keane having raised millions of pounds for the charity following the sad loss of his son Shaun in 2010.

Fans, players and celebrities alike will be able to show off their shirts via various Social Media platforms leading up to the day, also nominating others to do the same while at the same time raising money for those two fantastic Rugby League related charities. And the day itself will see Rugby League fans around the world proudly wearing their shirt, showing support for the charities and the game alike.

The RFL states: “The day is the brainchild of Rugby League mad friends Bryan Cowin and Andy Lee. Both appear on Andy’s popular weekly ‘Loose Forward Podcast’ (@looseforwardpod), which will be launching the day on Tuesday 1 August in line with Bryan’s Twitter account @Six_Again

Bryan says: “The day is the second of our now annual events, showcasing the popularity of Rugby League. Everyone within the game is aware of the stories of these two legends and we envisage the visual effect of shirts from all over the world will help raise awareness for two amazing charities.”
