Hunslet Rugby League club’s head coach Alan Kilshaw has included Nathan Newbound and Nathan Conroy, who have returned from loan spells with Cornwall and Swinton respectively, in his 21-man squad for Sunday’s Betfred League 1 clash with London Skolars at the South Leeds Stadium.

The Parksiders are, however, without loose forward Michael Knowles, who is serving a one-match suspension, and prop Harvey Hallas, who is likely to be sidelined for a couple of weeks through an ankle injury sustained in Hunslet’s last game, at Rochdale Hornets earlier this month.

Sean Croston, meanwhile, remains on loan at Cornwall.

The Parksiders head into the game aiming to cement second place in the table – with all the advantages that confers in the forthcoming play-offs -but `Killer’ is adamant that the Skolars, who are bottom of the table without a win, will not be taken lightly.

He said: “It’s business as usual. We are well aware of what a victorious outcome will achieve but we have to be focussed on the processes and on playing our way.

“London Skolars are a physical side and have some players who can dent the line while in our last performance, at Rochdale Hornets, we weren’t anywhere near the standards we have set defensively.

“We have done some work in this area this week and although we have a couple of people out with suspension and injury that presents opportunities for players to push themselves into contention for the play-offs.”
