Hunslet RLFC maintained their perfect start to the 2019 Betfred League 1 campaign yesterday with a victory against North Wales Crusaders.

The myrtle and flame are sitting top of the Betfred League 1 table with an unbeaten record after three games and now face Coventry Bears at the South Leeds Stadium on Sunday.

The strong start to the season on the field has been mirrored by a positive start off it with season ticket sales increasing by 20% compared to 2018.

Hunslet RLFC Chief Commercial Officer Paul Taylor said “Everyone at the club is really encouraged by the start we have made to this season.

“A fantastic result yesterday in difficult conditions with a number of players missing shows the grit and determination this group has.

“It is important that everyone rallies behind us and supports Gary, his coaching staff and his team to help us achieve our ambitions.

“Season tickets are still available and you can show your commitment to the cause by buying a season ticket and still save money over the course of the season if you attend every game.”

Head Coach Gary Thonrton

Head Coach Gary Thornton echoed the sentiments and said “The support this season from our supporters has been fantastic.

“They traveled in good numbers to Doncaster and Wrexham and it certainly helps the players give that little bit extra.

“We were also well supported previously at home the other week against West Wales and we want to make the South Leeds Stadium a fortress this season, buying a season ticket and showing your commitment has a huge impact.”
